Poor-quality disposable plastic lunch boxes are popular in some small restaurants due to their low cost-often priced at just a few coin each. For example, in the production of these inferior products, large amounts of industrial-grade calcium carbonate, talcum powder, paraffin, and other toxic or harmful materials are often added, posing a direct threat to users' health.
Fake "eco-friendly" plastic lunch boxes tend to feel soft and flimsy to the touch, tear easily, emit a pungent and irritating odor, and are prone to leaking when exposed to heat. Counterfeit pulp-based lunch boxes typically have poor strength, appear dark in color, and suffer from severe oil and water leakage. Often, neither the packaging nor the lunch box itself displays a factory name.trademark, or production date.
Additionally, fake lunch boxes are generally heavier than qualified ones. When shredded and placed in water, they tend to sink (whereas qualified products have a specific gravity of less than 1and will float). These counterfeit products are also unusually cheap, usually priced below ¥0.10,while genuinely eco-friendly lunch boxes typically cost more than ¥0.13.
